  • Troubleshooting

My email signature's images are showing as a red X when I compose an email in Outlook.

    outlook red X images

Please close and re-open Outlook. Outlook has some issues when rendering signatures in compose mode, but even if the images aren't showing (or show as cut off) in the compose mail preview, please be assured that when the email is sent and received by the recipient, the images always show correctly. Once you re-open Outlook, it should fix the image rendering issue.

Does the email signature installer for Outlook, fix the blurry images and images appearing as attachments issues?

Yes! The installer directly edits the HTML file located on your hard drive (just like our Advanced instructions on any of our Outlook guides) so your images should not be blurry, as they are not being saved and compressed by Outlook and they won't appear as attachments in Apple mail clients.

I get an error message saying "Invalid signature format, please download the latest signature file from emailsignaturerescue.com".

You will need to login to your Email Signature Rescue member account and click edit on the signature you are trying to install. Once in edit mode, press "Download" to obtain the very latest code that is needed to be compatible with our installer app.

If you have been emailed your HTML signature files from a Designer or Developer, please contact them and ask for the latest files and send them a link to this page.

If you haven't used Email Signature Rescue to create your email signature's HTML file, unfortunately, this app won't work for you. If you need an easier way to install HTML email signature files in Windows email clients, consider joining Email Signature Rescue now and get creating!

I get an error message saying "Error, this signature already exists".

Please rename the signature and try installing it again.

I get an error message saying "This version of the ESR Signature Installer is no longer supported. Please download the latest client from Email Signature Rescue".

Please download the latest version of our Email Signature Rescue installer again from this page. It has been updated and you will need to also update to the latest version before you can use it.

I'd like to add my signature to emails that I forward but it's not letting me check the box.

This feature is not available with your particular email client. We can only apply this feature if it is supported by your email client.
