Email Signature Rescue makes tracking link clicks in your email signature simple by providing built-in analytics. Here’s how you can use it:
- Set Up Your Email Signature:
- Log in to your Email Signature Rescue account.
- Enable Google Analytics in your settings
- Create or edit your email signature from the Dashboard.
- Enable Link Tracking:
- Navigate to the Links tab in the signature editor.
- Check the Analytics Link box next to any link you want to track.
- Install the Signature in Outlook:
- Follow the instructions provided by Email Signature Rescue to install your updated signature in Outlook.
- If you used an Installer App for Outlook any changes made will be automatically applied.
- View Analytics:
- Log into your Google Analytics account to see links coming from utm-source: email-signature.
- Go to Acquisition > Campaigns in Google Analytics to view performance data for your UTM-tagged links.
2. Using URL Shorteners with Analytics
If you’re not using a tool like Email Signature Rescue, you can still track link clicks with a URL shortener like Bitly or a similar service.
- Create a Trackable Link:
- Generate a shortened URL for each link in your signature using a tool like Bitly.
- Copy the shortened URL.
- Add the Link to Your Outlook Signature:
- Go to File > Options > Mail > Signatures in Outlook.
- Paste the shortened URL into the appropriate section of your signature.
- Monitor Clicks:
- Log into your URL shortener account to view click analytics.
3. Using UTM Parameters with Google Analytics
For detailed tracking, you can use UTM parameters and Google Analytics.
- Create a UTM-Tagged Link:
- Use Google’s Campaign URL Builder to add UTM parameters (e.g.,
utm_source=email&utm_medium=signature&utm_campaign=tracking
).
