Why Alt-Text Helps
Including alt-text in images, especially in your email signature, is a small but important detail that can improve email deliverability and accessibility. While it won't single-handedly keep your emails out of the spam folder, it does contribute to a well-optimized email structure. Spam filters analyze various elements of an email, and missing alt-text on images can sometimes raise red flags. Here’s why adding alt-text helps:
Reduces Spam-Like Appearance
Emails that contain only images (without alt-text) are sometimes flagged as spam because spammers often use images to bypass text-based spam filters.
Improves Accessibility
Alt-text makes emails more accessible to screen readers, which is a best practice for email deliverability and user experience.
Fallback for Image Blocking
Some email clients block images by default. Alt-text helps recipients understand what the image is about even if they don’t load.
