Tracking Clicks on Gmail Signature Links
Option 1: Using Email Signature Rescue
Email Signature Rescue is a professional tool for managing email signatures and includes a link tracking feature. Here's how to track clicks:
- Create Your Email Signature in Email Signature Rescue:
- Sign in to your Email Signature Rescue account and create or edit your signature.
- Add links to your signature as usual.
- Enable Link Tracking:
- Go to the Settings in your Email Signature Rescue account.
- Turn on the Google Analytics feature (per link).
- Mark Links for Analytics:
- You should now see an analytics style box next to every link with a checkbox.
- Check the "Analytics Link" box next to any link you want to track in the signature editor.
- Add the Signature to Gmail:
- Copy the HTML or use the Signature Key integration instructions to install your signature into Gmail.
- View Click Analytics:
- The links work the same as Option 3: Using UTM Parameters, so you will need to check your link anlyatics via your Google Analytics dashboard.
Option 2: Using URL Shorteners with Analytics (e.g., Bitly)
If you're not using a dedicated signature tool, you can still track clicks using a URL shortener with built-in analytics.
- Generate a Shortened Link:
- Use a tool like Bitly to create a trackable shortened version of your link.
- Add the Shortened Link to Your Signature:
- Replace the original link in your Gmail signature with the shortened version.
- Monitor Clicks:
- Log in to your Bitly account to view click statistics for the shortened URL.
