Show email signature images in the email message in Outlook 2010 not as attachments
If you are using Outlook 2010 and receiving emails with an email signature and the email signature's images are showing as attachments, there could be a few reasons why.
First reason
First, the settings in your Outlook 2010 email program may be blocking the email signature's images from showing inline (in your email message) and converts the images to attachments. There is an easy fix for this, do the following:
Unblock picture downloads for all messages
- Open Outlook 2010.
- Click the File on the top toolbar.
- Click Options.
- Click Trust Center.
- Under Microsoft Outlook Trust Center, click Trust Center Settings...
- Clear the Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items check box.
Unblock picture downloads for all messages from a particular email address or domain
- In an open message that was sent from that email address or domain, right-click one of the blocked items. Click Add Sender to Safe Senders List or Add the Domain @domain to Safe Senders List.
How a properly coded and hosted image should appear in an email signature in Outlook 2010
Second reason
Second, your virus protection may be stopping images from showing in HTML emails in general, check your settings in your virus protection software or Google "how to allow [your virus program] to show images in HTML emails".
Third reason
Or third, the sender may not be sending the images correctly. For images to show inline in Outlook 2010, the sender needs to host the image on a web server (like we do at Email Signature Rescue) and code them correctly using HTML in order for the images to appear inline, in the actual email message and not as an attachment. If the sender of the email is simply attaching the images, or using the Outlook email signature generator, the images are not being hosted and therefore will always show as attachments.
Can I force recipients to download the images, pictures automatically in Outlook 2010?
No, you cannot force recipients of your emails to download images, pictures in Outlook 2010. Each user has their own settings in Outlook and only they can choose whether or not to show images.
